1st class Christmas Performance 2015

Here are some photographs from our 1st Class Christmas Performance 2015.
We sang three songs during the show.

We composed our very own Christmas songs with our music teacher Eamonn. We used Christmas words to create the songs and Eamonn accompanied us with his guitar.

We played the chimes and shakers along with the songs. It all sounded wonderful.
We also sang Silent Night and Frosty the Snowman.

We used lots of 2D Shapes and coloured our cities using Oil Pastels.

Nature Walk

In class this week Ms. Mulcahy's first class have been learning about the signs of Autumn and the different types of trees.
All the children learnt about the different parts of the trees and we felt it would be fun to go on a nature walk and see what all these things looked like in real life!

We went to see the old oak tree, the horse chestnut tree, the sycamore tree and the ash tree on the avenue.
We looked at the bark of each tree and took some bark rubbings. We also collected some leaves and some fruit from each tree.

When we got back to the classroom we used pastels, watercolours, paint and crayons to make some leaf rubbings using the leaves we collected. We have displayed what we collected on our nature table in our room!

Come have a look if you have time!

Is féidir liom!

A Good Night's Sleep!

Second class have been learning about keeping healthy. Getting a good night's sleep is really important in staying healthy so we decided to make a list of tips to help us do this. We're going to try these at home and see if it makes a difference...

1. Eat healthy food.
2. Get plenty of exercise during the day.
3. Go to bed early (8.00 pm at the latest).
4. Have a good bedtime routine.
5. Turn off the TV/tablet if you have one in your room.
6. Have a clean and comfy bed.

Extra tip from Ms O'Brien - a bed time story is always a good idea!

We hope you find these tips helpful!
